"The Miracle of Racing is the Courage to Start" - John Bingham

"The Miracle of Racing is the Courage to Start" - John Bingham

Racing is not the object of everybody's love of running. But everybody who loves to race shares, "the courage to start, the determination to keep trying" and if they are lucky, "the childlike spirit to have fun along the way".

Racing is in KidRunner's DNA; not because winning is everything but because we believe great sports equipment should be designed to make winning possible.

And like parenting, -

"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of." -
                                                                PattiSue Plumer, Olympic Runner

From the start, KidRunner was invented to combine the spirit, beauty and challenges of parenting with the same experiences of running. And racing has been part of that journey. It started with world champion runner Max King's blistering 5:22 min mile at the Bend, OR BigFoot 10K; beating more than 200 runners with a KidRunner and a three year old daughter. Over 70,000 people have watched the incredible video on YouTube.

Since then, KidRunner has crossed dozens of finish lines all over the world, helped parents make new personal bests, finished half and full marathons with elite qualifying times including qualifying for the NY Marathon. Today, there are several parents using KidRunner to help them qualify for the Olympics.

"Before KidRunner, I thought I had to give up my Olympic qualifying dream because I couldn't train with my kids using traditional jogging strollers. Now I'm doing both; training hard and doing it with my kid(s)." -

Team | KidRunner has raced in over 40 races in the US, Canada and Europe just since Summer, '18. They've crossed half marathon finish lines in 1:20, they've crossed finished lines in pirate suites and tutus and they've achieved dozens of personal bests.

No two races are ever the same. But KidRunner parents all have one thing in common; They cross the finish line WITH their kids. It's our dream come true to see parents and their kids cross finish lines to cheering crowds and shared race medals.

Running and racing are opportunities to model for our kids one of running's most valuable teachings -

"I run because it is symbolic of life. You have to drive yourself to overcome obstacles. You might feel that you can't. But then you find your inner strength, and realize your capable of so much more than you thought." -
                                                                          Arthur Blank

Running and racing are metaphors for the challenges and joys of life. And KidRunner makes sharing them more possible. And every time a KidRunner crosses a finish line, first or last, they've taught themselves, us and their children something great about what's possible when you ask yourself -
"Can I give more? The answer is usually, 'Yes'". -
